What an exciting start to the year in Beech class!
At the start of the year, we discovered that a time portal had been seen in the Newton Abbot area! Then, to our surprise it appeared right here at Canada Hill! We received a letter through the portal. It was from Edward Littlewood, King Henry VIII’s historian, and he set us the challenge of creating a Tudor family tree complete with portraits.
This term, therefore we have been learning about the Tudors. Firstly, we learned about the War of the Roses. We had lots of fun re-enacted the Battle of Bosworth!
We worked in pairs to research and write information pages about Henry VIII’s wives. Then, we learned to develop our drawing skills by drawing portraits of the Tudors.
The year 3s are now designing and making picture frames to display our portraits. We are currently exploring how to make frames which are freestanding or can be hung from a wall.
In maths, we have been using our knowledge of numbers and counting to measure capacity.
